Not all beach towels are created equal. Here's how to choose one you'll actually love.
With so many options out there, it's easy to grab whatever's on sale and end up with a towel that's too small, too heavy, or covered in sand by noon. Here's what actually matters β and why foutas check every box.
Absorbency
A great beach towel should dry you quickly and efficiently β not just smear water around. Cotton is the gold standard: a natural fiber that absorbs moisture fast and feels gentle on your skin. Our foutas are hand-loomed from 100% cotton and get more absorbent with every wash, not less.
Size
Bigger is better at the beach. Our foutas measure 38" x 78" β larger than most standard beach towels β giving you plenty of room to stretch out on the sand without hanging off the edges.
Sand Resistance
This is the one most people forget to check β until they're shaking sand out of a heavy terrycloth towel for the fifth time. The tight flat weave of a fouta means sand simply doesn't stick. One shake and it's clean. If you've ever been to Siesta Key and dealt with that ultra-fine quartz sand, you know exactly why this matters.
Quick-Drying
A towel that stays damp all day is a towel that smells by the time you get home. Foutas dry in minutes β not hours β so they're always fresh and ready to use again.
Durability
Beach towels take a beating: sun, saltwater, sand, and frequent washing. Our foutas are seamlessly woven with long-fiber cotton that resists fading, pilling, and fraying. No seams to unravel, no colors that wash out in the Florida sun. Built to last for decades, not seasons.
Style
Life's too short for boring towels. Foutas come in a stunning range of colors and patterns β vibrant enough to stand out on the sand, elegant enough to wrap around you on the way to dinner.

I purchased a number of your beach towels before the hurricane while visiting Sanibel. I have misplaced the washing instructions. I seem to recall that Iβm supposed to soak towels in salt water before their first regular washing to set the dye. Can you please send me the instructions?
Many thanks,
